Bobby Lee Mines

Low Moor, VA-Bobby Lee Mines, 67, formerly of White Sulphur Springs, passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at the Salem Veterans Hospital, Salem, VA.

Born Apr. 6, 1947, at Camp Shaw-Mi-Del-Eca, he was a son of the late Ernest and Jane Harth Mines.

Bobby was of the Baptist faith and was a US Army Veteran, serving with distinction three tours in the Vietnam conflict and was honorably discharged after eight years of service. He was a former employee of the Bendix Corporation. Bobby loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy and Danny; and sister, Patty.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Reba Nadine Caldwell Mines; two sons, Bernard and Robbie; two daughters, Selina and Samantha; and two step-sons, George and Eric whom he loved as his own sons; five grandchildren, Cody O’Dell, Savannah, Gabriel, Trinity and Trevor Mines; six sisters, Shirley Evans (Bob), Sandy Snyder (Terry), Janice Seeley (Bobby), Brenda Swaney (Tom), Gloria King and Belinda Wyatt (John); five brothers, Verlin “Skip” Moss, Ed Moss (Bonnie), David Moss (Vicki), Mike Moss (Sue) and Mike Reickauer (Vickie); three uncles, Miles Cox, Lloyd Cox and Carter Rogers; two aunts, Claudine Knapp and Hellery Bright; and two sisters-in-law, Cindy Birt and Elizabeth Liptrap.

Thanks to his special friend; Betty Griffith Craft and thanks to his Aunt Hillery and a very special thanks to Myles Cox, Jr. for all the support and strength through these trying times.

His funeral service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 19, at the Wild Meadow Baptist Church, Rt. 92 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lowell O’Dell officiating.

Visitation will be 12 noon until funeral time at the church.

Interment will be in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, with military rites.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.
