Betty Lou VanBuren Masters

Ronceverte – Betty Lou VanBuren Masters, 84, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.

She was born Sept. 16, 1934, at White Sulphur Springs, a daughter of the late Hamil and Mildred Sevy VanBuren.

Bettie was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bryl Tyler; brothers, J.D., Julian, and Ronnie; and daughters-in-law, Bonita Masters and Jeanie Masters.

She is survived by daughters, Sarah Honaker (Joey) of Ronceverte, Kim Masters (fiancé David McDowell) of Lochgelly; two sons, Keith Masters (Debbie) and Frank Masters both of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Travis Dotson, Joshua and Jessica Masters, Ryan and Sarah Honaker, Rebecca and Brian Gillenwater, Jared and Alyssa Masters, Jordon Masters, and Steven and Timothy Dent; and four great-grandchildren and one coming in January.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 4, at McLean Presbyterian Church, Ronceverte, where Pastor Gary Baker officiated. Interment followed in the McLean Cemetery.

Family and friends were received at the church before the service on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg WV 24901.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
