Belinda Gail Scott

belinda scottWhite Sulphur Springs-Belinda Gail Scott, 54, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Cabell Huntington Hospital Burn Center in Huntington.

Born Oct. 10, 1961, in Clifton Forge, VA, she was a daughter of Lanty W. Watson of White Sulphur Springs and the late Edith Lou Maupin Watson.
She was a maid at The Greenbrier for 37 years. Belinda was a member of the Neola Baptist Church at Neola. She was an avid reader, loved crafting unique children’s quilts with a “bumble bee” as her trade mark. Belinda loved camping, loved family gatherings and liked to bake brownies for children when she was baby-sitting. She was also a “Goodwill Queen.”
Preceding her in death other than her mother was a brother, Robert Bostic.
Surviving are: her husband, Ronnie F. Scott at home; son, Kevin Ray Scott (Ashley); daughter, Kimberly Rae Lester (Mark); sisters, Annamae Peltier Bing Hammer and Cindy Watson Hoke; eight grandchildren, Remmington Scott, Hayleigh Mae Scott, Heidi Mae Lester, Lanti Lester, Caroline Lester, Will Lester and Jasmine Lester, and Alexis Lester; aunts and uncles, Gay and Rodney Kirby, J. D. Maupin, Marie Maupin, Arlene Maupin and Gail Rexrode; brothers-in-law, Joey Scott (Brenda) and Jimmy Scott; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Ware (Barry) and Anita Martin (James Windell); a very special niece, Courtney Whited. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved cat Kitty Meow who stayed beside her in the tree and survived the flood. She also had two dogs, Biscuit and Chloe gone to be with her in heaven.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, White Sulphur Springs with Rev. Ralph Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in Mapledale Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. at the church.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.
