Barnett sworn in as deputy sheriff

Circuit Judge Robert E. Richardson administers the oath of office to Andrew Barnett, the newest member of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office. Accompanying Barnett are his wife and daughter.

Deputy Barnett stated that becoming a deputy sheriff is the fulfillment of a career goal, and he looks forward to serving the citizens of Greenbrier County.

Sheriff Sloan welcomed Deputy Barnett to their ranks and advised that he is a needed addition to the department. A recent deputy sheriff testing cycle, scheduled for the first week of April, had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 crisis, and he advised they are looking forward to rescheduling the test to fill other department vacancies when circumstances will allow.
