Lewisburg-Avery Kenos Johnson, 84, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2021 at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.
He was born Nov. 24, 1936 near Lewisburg, the son of the late Richard and Tessie Legg Johnson.
Avery was a member of Shuck Memorial Baptist Church, had worked for Anderson Paving and was a retired supervisor with the WV Department of Highways with 28 years of service.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl and Edwin.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Phyllis Lewis Johnson; sons, Russell “Choppy” Williams and wife Carol of Frankford, and John Johnson, of Washington, DC; and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
