Audie (AJ) Carl Sloan Jr., 40, passed away tragically on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024. He was born Feb. 1, 1984, in Ronceverte to Audie Sloan and Elizabeth Adkins.

AJ enjoyed playing pool, hunting, fishing, football, and his mom’s homemade peanut butter milkshakes. AJ had a laugh that was contagious and a smile that could light up any room. He would go out of his way to help anyone and was loved by many.

AJ is preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Kathleen Sloan, Erma Snead, Nancy Adkins, and James Smith.

AJ was a beloved father to two sons, Evan and Greyson Sloan. AJ is survived by his father, Audie (Shawnda) Sloan, mother, Elizabeth Adkins, stepfather, Randy (Sallie) Adkins, brother, Shane Sloan (Nikki Brown), two sisters, Randisas (Preston) Grose and Amber (Jared) Kidd, two step-siblings, Jackie (Chris) Ferrell and Brandon (Becky) Pleasant. AJ also leaves behind his many nephews and nieces, Zachary, Alexis, Kinley, Kambree, Kenna, Clay, Ciara, Riley, Weston, Asa, and Aiden. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
