U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced that a total of $3,358,366 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health Human Services (HHS) Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) has been awarded to 28 West Virginia health centers. Rainelle Medical Center, Rainelle, received $48,958 in funding.
“I’m happy to see this funding head to health centers across West Virginia. Every West Virginia community deserves quality healthcare facilities and this funding will support the health centers that provide the primary and preventive care that many West Virginians rely on,” Manchin said.
“Community health centers offer vital health care services to countless West Virginians, especially in rural areas. This funding will help ensure that these facilities have the resources necessary to continue providing the primary and preventative care services that so many rely on,” said Capito.
Other area health centers that received funding are: Monroe County Health Center (Union), $51,206; and Community Health Systems, Inc. (Beckley), $80,929.
