White Sulphur Springs-Arbutus Lee “Bootie” Sams, 84, passed Monday morning, June 17, 2019, at Greenbrier Health Care Center in Fairlea.

Bootie was born Mar. 22, 1935, in Nitro, the daughter of the late John and Nellie White Donahue.

Other than her parents she was preceded in by a sister, Norma White and a brother, Sonny Donahue.

Surviving are her husband James M. “Jim” Sams of White Sulphur Springs; daughters, Debbie Gaughran of White Sulphur Springs and Pam Isaacs (David Allison) of Cocoa, FL; grandchildren, Matt Gaughran and wife Mallorie and Danielle Isaccs; great-grandchildren, Luke and Lilly Gaughran; sister, Sue Dallon of Cocoa, FL; brother, Denver Donahue of Cocoa, FL;  nieces and nephews, Cindy Deskins, Rebecca Shearer, Lisa Barner, Jackie Donahue, Patricia Brennen, Karen Lafon, Kimberly Imbruglia and Amy Mathis.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 21, at 4 p.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs with Pastor Shari Stigenbauer officiating.
