Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County (CISGC) is partnering with the Family Refuge Center (FRC) and Love Child for its annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive. The event will take place July 21 through Aug. 16.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had negative effects on a lot of people. Many individuals went without work and are still facing hardships. “Parents are unfortunately often left with the tough decision between paying bills, purchasing groceries, or school supplies.” Over the last several years, Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County has collected thousands of items for local families in need. This year, CISGC’s partnership with Family Refuge Center will allow even more at-risk and disadvantaged youth to receive assistance.

If you or someone you know would like to donate school supplies, you can do so at one of three locations: Kroger in Rainelle, Love Child in Lewisburg, and in the O’Café at WVSOM. For those who cannot make it to these drop off locations, we have also created a registry at Walmart.com. Through this registry, you can have your donated items shipped directly to CISGC and staff will distribute them to the FRC and local youth in need.

For monetary donations, you may mail a check to P.O. Box 1188, Lewisburg, WV 24901 or online at www.cisgc.org/donate

Help Communities in Schools of Greenbrier County and Family Refuge Center Stuff the Bus and fill backpacks for students with pencils, erasers, notebooks, and other essential school supplies. The goal is to distribute backpacks before the start of the school year, so students will not be left behind once the new academic year begins. For more information, call 304-661-1018 or email director@cisgc.org.
