Hello, Friends:

We have not been successful in finding a new staff member for the Alderson Hospitality House. We need your help in recruiting such a person. This is a perfect position for someone considering a short term volunteer program or wanting to do great work while thinking about and applying to grad school or other jobs. Attached you will find the job description, a short fact sheet about the house and the job application. Please spread the word or apply yourself.

For those who do not know who or what we are: We are a nonprofit Bed & Breakfast for friends and families of women incarcerated at the federal prison camp here in Alderson. Our current staff member will be leaving at the beginning of May, so we are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. If you would like to come and live/work with us for a month or two, we can provide room, board and a $200 monthly stipend. If you can come for a year or more we provide room, board, $300 monthly stipend and up to $500 for health insurance.

The experience of incarceration is extremely difficult, and families, as well as inmates, often feel abandoned and isolated. Here at the Hospitality House we provide not only good food and a warm comfortable room, but love, support, a listening ear, and we do our best to make sure no one feels alone while navigating through their own or a loved one’s incarceration.

Our website is www.aldersonhospitalityhouse.org. We hope to hear from you soon.
