The Aaron S. Cox Memorial Golf Tournament will be held May 8 and 9 at the Elk’s Country Club, Lewisburg. Friday, May 8 will be an auction with G. Scott Auctioneer from 6 to 8 p.m. DJ Rick Honaker will entertain from 8 to 11 p.m. On Saturday, May 9, the tournament begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start, captain’s choice. The entry fee is $300 per team. For more information please call Sara Jones, 304-667-3554; Brent Poage, 540-968-3704 or Roy Painter, 304-645-3660. You can also find us on Facebook. The tournament proceeds will offset some of the medical bills for Noah Ward.

Noah Ward is now 3-1/2 years old. He was born June 5, 2011, at 37 weeks gestation with breathing problems and dilation of his kidneys as well as a congenital heart defect called Patent Ductus Aortas. This was repaired, after being air lifted to WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, at 2 months of age with a PDA Ligation surgery. He suffers with failure to thrive and has undergone surgery for the placement of a feeding tube and a Nissen Fundiplucation. He also had a urinary tract reconstruction surgery.

At age 2-1/2 he was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder called Coffin Siris Syndrome. With this disorder come many problems such as moderate low muscle tone, abnormally loose joints, difficulty feeding, moderate to severe intellectual disability, delayed speech development, delayed motor skills such as sitting crawling and walking. Noah has frequent respiratory infections, vision and hearing impairments. He also is predisposed to liver and brain tumors. So he has to have annual full body MRIs and blood screens for his lifetime.

Noah has 10 specialists in Richmond VA. They require frequent trips/visits that can get very costly.

Even with daily therapies and the stressors of special needs life, Noah has shown us all what real happiness truly is. He always wears a smile, gives a lot of giggles and has made us love like we never thought possible. He has taught us patience and perseverance gets the goal!

No words can express how thankful we are for the Aaron S. Cox Memorial Golf Tournament and your donations to our family and son that we adore with all our hearts and souls!
