This week, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced that a total of $1,281,473 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has been awarded to the Monroe County Health Center. The funding will be used to help cover the costs of caring for underinsured or uninsured patients, as well as attracting, recruiting and retaining highly qualified medical professionals.
“For over 40 years, Monroe Health Center has been serving residents in Monroe County and the surrounding area,” Manchin said. “This funding is wonderful news for the clinic and the community it serves. All West Virginians deserve access to quality healthcare, and I’m pleased this funding will enable the Monroe Health Center to continue providing it.”
“I’m pleased this funding is headed to West Virginia to support the Monroe County Health Center,” said Capito. “This operational grant funding will allow the facility to continue carrying out its mission of providing convenient, high-quality health care to patients in Southern West Virginia.
