Betty Jane Williams
White Sulphur Springs-On Wednesday, Apr. 29, 2015, Betty Jane Williams, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born Nov. 23, 1938, in White Sulphur Springs, she was a daughter of the late Wyatt and Ada Spinks White.
Betty was a member of the Alvon United Methodist Church. She worked at the former Hanover Shoe Factory for nine years. She was also a beloved homemaker for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, other than her parents, were her husband, Carl M. Williams in 2011; her beloved daughter, Alice J. Waid in 2006; and her brothers, James, Joe, Bill, and Gene White.
Survivors include: her daughter, Dalice “Dally” Peyton (Merrell) of Princeton, WV; her son, Lester M. Williams (Connie) of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Mariann Hefner, Nicole Kayaloff, Cory Williams, Mary Grace and Isaac Peyton; great-grandson, Zachary; sisters, Nancy King of Dispunta, VA, Mary Gallagher of Neola, and Anna Belle Gabbert of Caldwell; brother, Bobby R. White of White Sulphur Springs; special nephew, Harvey King of Richmond, VA, who she loved like a son; and a great-nephew, Tyler King.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 2, at Alvon United Methodist Church, Alvon, where Rev. Gerald Roberts and Rev. Ralph Hubbard officiated. Interment followed in Mapledale Cemetery, Rt. 92, White Sulphur Springs.
Visitation was Friday evening, May 1, at the church.
