Iven Eugene Martin

Snake Run, Alderson-Iven Eugene Martin, 57, passed away Thursday, Apr. 30, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, following a long illness.

Born Oct. 12, 1957, in Iaeger, he was the son of the late Otto Ray and Sadie Ann Cline Martin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmie Martin, Glenn Martin, and John Martin.

Mr. Martin was a retired logger, retiring after 30 years of service, having worked in Greenbrier County and the surrounding area. He attended the Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse at Grassy Meadows. Mr. Martin loved to work, hunt, fish, play pool, go camping and loved to make people laugh. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife of 36 years, Linda Faye Bryant Martin of Snake Run; three daughters, Andrea Martin and companion Benjamin, Amanda Martin and companion Tyrone King and Hannah Martin and companion Adam Clay, all of Snake Run; three brothers, Emory Martin, Alvin Martin, and Bruce Martin, all of Snake Run; five sisters, Juanita Fry and husband James of Asbury, Dicie Hamrick and husband Lloyd of Rupert, Ruby Shafer and husband Samuel of Elton, Brenda Levisay and husband Mark of Alderson, and Beverly Workman of Snake Run; six grandchildren, Naziah, Adrian, Abbigail, Eden, Madelyn, and Elijah; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Leda Bryant of Snake Run; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 3, at the Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse, Grassy Meadows, where Pastor Butch LeGrand officiated. Burial was in the Bryant Family Cemetery, Snake Run.

Friends called Saturday evening, May 2, at the Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse, Grassy Meadows, and one hour prior to services at the Church on Sunday.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

Arrangements by Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson.
