“A Night with Yew” evening of music, dinner, and dance to support community land conservation efforts

The Yew Mountain Center (YMC) will host A Night with Yew, a fundraising event featuring live string music, a locally sourced dinner, and traditional square dancing on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. at Wood Thrush Park, 334 Richland Lane, Lewisburg. The event is part of a community campaign to support the purchase and permanent conservation of the 500-acre property the center has stewarded since 2016.

Event Details:

  • Date & Time: Saturday, Nov. 8, Dinner & Drinks 5 to 7 p.m., Square Dancing until 9 p.m.
  • Location: Wood Thrush Park, 334 Richland Lane, Lewisburg, WV
  • Attire: Fancy Folk
  • RSVP Required by October 31
  • To RSVP or Donate: Contact the YMC at 304-653-4079

Guests will enjoy an evening highlighting Appalachian culture and community, with performances by regional string musicians, locally sourced cuisine, and a square dance. The event will serve both as a celebration of the Yew Mountain Center’s ongoing work and as a key step in raising funds to secure local ownership of its land.

“The event brings people together in the spirit of Appalachian heritage while supporting a cause that affects the future of conservation, education, and community well-being in our region,” said director Erica Marks. Proceeds from the event will go directly toward the Yew Mountain Center’s land purchase campaign, which aims to permanently protect 500 acres of biodiverse forest and ensure the continuation of its educational, ecological, and cultural programming for the local community. Community members who are unable to attend the event in person are encouraged to contribute through the organization’s website at yewmountain.org/support.
