The WVU Williamsburg Community Educational Outreach Service Club met on Nov. 11 with a grateful heart as they recognized the service provided by the United States Veterans.
A Thanksgiving lunch was enjoyed by all. Shela McComsey, Health Motivator led the members in leg exercises that will help prevent falls.
This month’s lesson was “Christmas Cookies: History and Sharing of Baked Goods.” Patty Post led this lesson where members learned where the tradition of baking and sharing cookies first began and tips for successful cookie baking.
Meeting concluded with members enjoying Gingerbread Men cookies. This idea was attributed to Queen Elizabeth I who requested people shape cookies for the festivities.
Those participating were Shela McComsey, Loretta Shirley, Linda Spencer, Lyne Jones, LauraAnn Tiller and Patty Post.
