On Sept. 9, J.R. Byer was appointed to the position of Police Chief of the White Sulphur Springs Police Department. Prior to the appointment, Byer was serving as a Lieutenant with the White Sulphur Springs Police Department.
Byer has over 25 years of law enforcement experience. He has previously held the position of Police Chief at White Sulphur Springs, Ronceverte and Alderson police departments.
