Ronceverte-Woodrow Thomas Boone, 80, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, at the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA, after a long battle with bone cancer and congestive heart failure.

He was born June 12, 1938, to the late Alta and Annie Mann Boone at Ronceverte.

Woodie was a fantastic father, grandfather, father-in-law and friend due to his solid foundation of his love of Jesus and his willingness to share his faith with all who wanted to hear. Woodie was a member of the Zions Light Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Ginny Achen; son-in-law, Patrick Achen both of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Paris Achen of Salem, OR; brothers, Donald Boone and Palmer Boone of Ronceverte; nephew, Donnie Boone and wife Ann of Lewisburg; and other nieces and nephews in the West Virginia area.

A celebration of Woodie’s life was held Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, where Pastor Gary Baker officiated. Burial followed in the Morgan Cemetery, Ronceverte.  Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
