CloudGateChicago: The winner of the Chicago vacation will stay at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, located just steps away from the world-famous “Cloud Gate” sculpture by Anish Kapoor. Travelers from all over the world have their picture taken at this Windy City landmark, nicknamed “The Bean.”

Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) is giving Masquerade in the Mountains guests an opportunity to get out of town!

Greenbrier Valley Theatre, the state professional theatre of West Virginia, will be auctioning off three vacations during their Masquerade in the Mountains fundraiser on Saturday, July 21, at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine Conference Center. Guests will have the option to bid on trips to Chicago, New Orleans, and Washington, DC, during a live auction at the event.

The trip to New Orleans includes a four-day, three-night stay at the New Orleans Marriott, on Canal Street in the heart of New Orleans French Quarter, and a jazz dinner cruise on the historic Mississippi River.

The winner of the Washington, DC, vacation will receive a four-day, three-night, luxury vacation at the Renaissance Washington, DC, situated in the Penn Quarter District between Capitol Hill and the White House. The trip also includes a lunch cruise on the Potomac River with breath-taking sights of the DC monuments.

The Chicago trip winner will receive a three-day, two night stay at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, located just steps away from Michigan Avenue, the theatre and fashion districts, and the famous “Cloud Gate” sculpture by Anish Kapoor, nicknamed “The Bean,” at Millennium Park. The vacation package also includes a lunch cruise for two on Lake Michigan.

Auction winners will be responsible for their air fare, but with Greenbrier Valley Airport now offering flights to Chicago and Washington, DC, a getaway is easier than ever. What better way to support GVT and enjoy a relaxing vacation at the same time?

Masquerade in the Mountains will be held Saturday, June 21, from 7-11 p.m. at the WVSOM Conference Center. Tickets to this costume-optional event include heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine, a cabaret performance by New York entertainer Gabrielle Lee, and Charleston-based dance band RiverJam. GVT will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets; the 50/50 drawing will be held at their Fall Luncheon on Sunday, Sept. 16.

All proceeds from the Masquerade, auction, and 50/50 drawing will benefit GVT, enabling them to continue to bring quality theatre, music, and theatre education to the Greenbrier Valley and beyond. Tickets are $100 each. Table sponsorships are also available. Reservations are required. For tickets or more information, call GVT’s Box Office at 304-645-3838 or the Development Office at 304-645-3838 ext. 106. Space is limited, so please, RSVP today.

Guests of Masquerade in the Mountains are invited to wear masks, but they are optional. Festive cocktail attire is encouraged.
