There will be a weekend of community support and entertainment to benefit the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department as the annual Williamsburg Down Home Festival returns. The event will take place on Sept. 6 and 7 and will offer a range of activities and attractions for all ages.

The festivities kick off with registration on Saturday, Sept. 6 with a registration for the Back Roads Appalachian Ride (ride runs from 8 a.m. at 4 p.m.). Next, Verge of Madness with Virgil Kelly will go from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. A food auction will be held at 3:30 p.m. The Thomas Taylor Band will play from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and a raffle drawing and chance raffle drawings will start at 5:30 p.m. Buddy Allen and the Cheat River Band will close out the evening, playing from 6 to 10 p.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, the day will begin with a worship service with music from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a food auction from 12:15 to 1 p.m. with chance auction drawings. Chose Road will play live music from 2 to 4 p.m.

There will be vendors set up on both days, including Dime Toss. On Saturday, there will be a blacksmith and a bounce house and games for kids. Food options across the weekend include homemade barbecue, hot dogs with all the fixings, nachos with cheese and jalapenos, Dippin’ Dots ice cream, Amish sweets, and Jenn’s Café.  Dry camp sites are available.

Bring your lawn chairs! All proceeds support the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department. Contact 304-667-8041 with any questions.
