The Williamsburg CEOS Club met Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Williamsburg District Historical Museum. The meeting was called to order by C.K. Perkins, president and began with a devotion “ Be A True Believer” by Virginia Hanna.
A carry-in lunch was enjoyed before the business meeting with the blessing asked by Loretta Shirley.
Minutes of the October meeting were read and approved. Members present were C.K. Perkins, Virginia Hanna, Loretta Shirley, Blanche Knicely, Laura Rose and Barbara Deeds. Laura Sevy from the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program was present as a guest. They reported 129 volunteer hours, 127 motivational hours and 18 books read. The treasurer’s report was given by C.K. Perkins.
Get Well, Sympathy and Thinking of You cards were prepared for mailing to friends and neighbors.
Barbara Deeds gave a report on “Belles at The Greenbrier.” Glenda Killen, Deloris Lilly, Janice Welsh and Barbara Deeds attired in their Belle dresses greeted and mingled with attendees of the National Agents Meeting held Nov. 2 at The Greenbrier Resort.
Plans were made for attending the CEOS Annual Show ‘n Share at the Rupert Community Building on Nov. 20. The Williamsburg Club will be taking care of the registration for this workshop. Also they will furnish two door prizes. The theme of the workshop is “Cookies.” Some club members will share their cookies and recipes.
The lesson “Discovering What Food Dates Really Mean” was presented by Blanche Knicely. She explained the types of dates on foods that are bought and gave tips for food storage. This was a very informative lesson that all can use.
Next month’s meeting will be a Christmas Party at Shoney’s in Lewisburg. Each member will bring a gift for the gift exchange.
The club would welcome new members, if anyone is interested in joining or wants information about Community Educational Outreach Service, they may contact the clubs marketing and membership chairman, Loretta Shirley (304-645-2238), any of the above members or Kay Davis at the WVU Extension Office in Fairlea (304-647-7408).
