The Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts of Quinwood Troop 7402 recently spent an afternoon at the North House Museum in Lewisburg. These scouts were investigating the badge requirements for “Playing the Past” and were interested to know what life would have been like for girls the 1770’s in Greenbrier County. They enjoyed carding and spinning wool into candy striped yarn to take home as well as working a loom to hand weave wool into blanket material. The photo shows them in pioneer hats in front of the Virginia covered wagon where they learned of the dangers and difficulties of travel to the Greenbrier frontier.
