Cassandria Perkins, secretary of the Williamsburg CEOS Club, is an avid supporter of the Williamsburg Museum and devoted to discovering the genealogy of her family and of those in the area. She taught the lesson, “Appalachian Genealogy: Root to Rise” at the Sept. 14 meeting of the Williamsburg Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) Club.
The meeting was held at the Museum, which is full of historic pictures, artifacts, and genealogical records. Those participating were Blanche Knicely, Barbara Deeds, Burl and Patty Post, and Laura and Jerry Sevy.
Laura Sevy, a representative of the area AmeriCorps Seniors, recognized club members for their service in the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Members were presented with recognition certificates, pins, insulated cups, and sun visors.
The next meeting of the club will be held at the Museum on Oct. 12, beginning at 12 noon. All are invited to participate. The program will be on Indoor Herb Gardening, a WVU Extension prepared lesson being presented by Burl Post.
