William Glen Persinger

Popes Creek, MD-William Glen Persinger, 63, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, after suffering a severe traumatic brain injury.

Glen was born in Columbus, OH, to Wayne Persinger and Sandy Barr on Nov. 2, 1957. He spent his childhood in Lewisburg, WV. Glen liked to brag that it was the coolest small town in America.

Glen spent many years doing what he loved best which was traveling the country showing cattle. Glen attended Greenbrier East High School where he discovered his passion for golf. He worked for American Cedar and Millwork for 21 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wm. Wayne Persinger and brother Jeff Persinger.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Virginia Turner Persinger; son, Will (wife, Kimberly, Reed 4); daughter, Sally (fiance’ Justin Hamilton, Avery 3, Landon 10); mother, Sandy Barr; sister, Becky Heffron; brother, David; and many nephews and nieces.

Glen’s passions were his family, Happy hours at Carlyle’s house, playing golf, The Washington Nationals and everything West Virginia.

A private funeral service was held in Southern Maryland.
