It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of William Franklin Weikle, 79, who left this world on Mar. 30, 2026.

Born in Ronceverte, WV, on Oct. 16, 1946, Billy lived a life marked by kindness, strength, humor and compassion. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend whose presence brought warmth and light to those around him.

Throughout his life, he found joy in coaching and watching his children play sports. Bill took great pride in his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He will be remembered for his one of a kind sense of humor and love for his friends and family. He could be found riding around town and visiting his buddies on the hill for coffee, cooking and reminiscing.

Billy was a Vietnam Army veteran.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kay Dowdy Weikle; sons, Joseph (Crystal) Weikle and Brian Weikle; daughters, Angela (Eric) Berry and Kelly Weikle; grandchildren, Mason Weikle, Samantha Berry and Caleb Weikle. Surviving brothers include Gary (Sharon) Weikle and Donnie (Barbara) Weikle; cousins, Madonna (Randy) Erskine and Michael (Kathy) Judy; sister-in laws, Linda Weikle, Grace Weikle as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 2, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Apr. 3, at the funeral home in Lewisburg, with Donnie Weikle officiating. Burial will follow in Adwell Cemetery at Ronceverte.
