Week 3 of Garth Newel’s 2015 Summer Festival: Baroque Inspirations and Quixotic Quartets

Garth Newel Music Center presents the third week of the 2015 Summer Festival with two concerts, Baroque Inspirations on Saturday, July 18 at 5 p.m. followed by an optional dinner and Quixotic Quartets on Sunday, July 19 at 3 p.m. followed by an optional picnic.

During the musical icebreaker on Saturday, July 18 at 4 p.m., world-renowned violinist and pedagogue, Stanley Ritchie, sheds light on the origins and influences of Bach’s compositions. The concert will feature the works of Bridge, Hartke, Vivaldi, Geminiani and concludes with Bach’s Brandenburg Concert No. 3, conducted by Stanley Ritchie. The Garth Newel Piano Quartet will be joined by guest artists Anya Shemetyeva, violin, Anthony Manzo, bass, Robert Merfeld, keyboard, and Garth Newel’s Emerging Artists Fellows. The concert on Sunday, July 19 at 3 p.m. features the Garth Newel Piano Quartet performing the works of Héritte-Viardot and Brahms.
