Warren Clayton Tyree, 103, of Lewisburg passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg. Born on Jan. 9, 1922, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Minnie Cochran Tyree.

Clayton was a proud US Navy World War II Veteran and a dedicated member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, AARP, Ruritan National, and a Lifetime Member of the American Legion, VFW, and Greenbrier Historical Society. During his spare time, he built six houses, showcasing his skills and dedication. He enjoyed a fulfilling 26-year career at The Greenbrier.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Leona Tyree; sisters, Edith Tyree, Christine Crane, Arietta Arnett, and Doris Watson.

Clayton is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Tyree; children, Gail Stone, Gary Tyree (Nancy), Mike Tyree (Gilda), Mark Tyree (Lisa); stepchildren, Mark Humphreys (Betsy), Bruce Humphreys (Heather); ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg, with Pastor Bev Columbo officiating. There will be no visitation.
