Jazz Vocalist René Marie returns to Garth Newel Music Center for one evening only – Saturday, May 10 – bringing her hot band, songs from her recently released album I Wanna Be Evil (With Love to Eartha Kitt) and her eclectic songbook, and an unmatched charm, vivacity and artistry.
“We’re so excited to bring René Marie and her band back to the Music Center,” says Chris Williams, Garth Newel’s executive director. “When she performed at the Virginia Blues and Jazz Festival last year, she absolutely wowed the audience. We don’t often bring artists back so quickly after a VBJF performance, but the excitement surrounding René Marie was so great that we thought we’d bend our own rules a little.”
