Ogden, UT-Veda Violet Pickles Pearson went to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at her home in Ogden, Utah. Veda was a native of White Sulphur Springs and raised her family in Monroe County.

Veda was preceded in death by her beloved son, Douglas T. Pickles; her first husband and father of her children, Donald Pickles; and her brother, Johnny Alihue Scott.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Everett Pearson and his seven daughters, all of Utah; four sisters; two brothers; two daughters, Kathy Pickles Spangler and Donna Pickles Anderson and husband Michael; three sons, Donald D. Pickles, Adam C. Pickles and wife Tammy, all of Sinks Grove and Daniel Pickles and wife Kelly of Union; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Veda received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bluefield State in Business Administration and used her education in several administrative positions before retiring.  She cherished her family and treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Veda loved her Heavenly Father and her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she had a loving relationship with and whom she served by showing love and help to others.  She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Veda and her husband, Everett served a two-year mission for her church in Canada.  She loved singing gospel hymns and was always heard singing, if not with others, then to herself.

Veda loved painting and was very talented. She shared her art pieces with others over the years and they will be cherished. She also loved quilting and often quilted with her daughters, but more recently, she made quilts for the homeless in her community in Utah.

A Celebration of Veda’s Life was held Thursday, Sept. 13, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs. The family received their friends for visitation before the service.

Veda was interred in a private service at the family cemetery in Sinks Grove.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs is in charge of arrangements.
