“We were treated like movie stars!”

This was just one of the many compliments shared by nearly two dozen widows invited to a Valentine’s Banquet held in their honor at First Baptist Church, Fairlea. Senior pastor Dr. Dallas Smith and his wife Donna prepared a scrumptious French-style meal that was served by deacons from the church. The ladies were serenaded this year by the locally renowned gospel trio 3:16 Crossroads (featuring Johnny Shores, Jeff Bryant, and Bob Neff). “February is known as the month of love, but precious widows are often overlooked.  It is a joy to serve God in a church that recognizes the importance of all people,” said Pastor Smith.
