The Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation (Greenbrier Valley EDC), in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the West Virginia Department of Economic Development, invites local businesses to attend “Export Assistance for WV Businesses” on Tuesday, June 3 at 10 a.m. at the Greenbrier Valley EDC office in Maxwelton.

This free, in-person workshop will provide insight into how West Virginia manufacturers and service providers can access international markets. Attendees will learn about available export assistance programs, including expert consulting, market research, and grant funding opportunities.

“While the international markets can seem a little scary at the moment, we think there is always time to explore growth opportunities for our businesses,” said Ruthana Beezley, Executive Director of the Greenbrier Valley EDC. “With three export agencies in one place, there won’t be a better time to get expert assistance on this issue.” Whether a business is new to exporting or seeking to expand its global reach, the workshop will offer practical resources and connections to support global business growth. Refreshments will be provided. To register, email kholden@gvedc.com.

More about participating partners:

West Virginia Department of Agriculture supports agricultural exporters through technical assistance, export education webinars, and partnerships with organizations like the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA). They help small and mid-sized agribusinesses develop export plans, access funding, and participate in international marketing programs.

West Virginia Department of Economic Development offers a robust Export Promotion Program that helps West Virginia businesses enter and expand in international markets. Services include expert counseling, funding through the First STEP-Next STEP program, and participation in trade shows and missions. U.S. Department of Commerce, through its U.S. Commercial Service, provides comprehensive export assistance to U.S. businesses. This includes market research, trade counseling, matchmaking with international partners, and support at trade events.

Greenbrier Valley EDC’s office is located at 804 Industrial Park Road, Suite 5, Maxwelton, WV 24957. For more information, please contact the Greenbrier Valley EDC office at 304-497-4300 or at info@gvedc.com.
