Strands Salon and Gifts is one of two new businesses recently opened in Ronceverte.

By David Esteppe
This past Sunday one new business held its grand opening, and on Friday its next door neighbor did the same.
Barb Gentry’s new Strands Salon and Gifts opened in the beautifully restored building at the corner of Route 219 and Frankford Road. There are specialty salon products and boutique items for sale alongside the artistry of stylist Gentry. Appointments can be made at 304-575-7821.
Adjacent to the new salon at 218 Frankford Road, sibling entrepreneurs Sidney and Killian Oakes are opening Greenbrier County’s first vape cafe/lounge, S K Vapes.
S K Vapes is starting out with premium vaporizers and will graduate into a full fleged e-liquid lounge in the next few weeks.
Vaping is the new alternative to smoking tobacco products. The trend is gaining in popularity as it can be done in places where smoking is no longer legal or permitted.
With over 50 flavors on hand, and top brand names such as Joy E-Tech, itaste, Modzilla, I Love Donuts and Spacejam, customers are able to actually try 24 of the flavors presently.
Sidney says some of the flavors are calming, and some of them are energy producing. There are even some that give you vitamins.
S K Vapes is offering a frequent shopper rewards card, and also invites all to like their Facebook page. Following the Facebook page will keep you abreast of new products and services as they arrive in the near future. The young entrepreneurs are excited about the forthcoming E-Hooka lounge.
S K Vapes can be reached at 304-992-2733.
