Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company will be celebrating the Fourth of July with local Bluegrass legends Richard Hefner and the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys from 5 to 7 p.m. in Maxwelton on Friday, July 4. There is no cost to attend.
Richard Hefner and Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys are led by Mill Point, WV, native Richard Hefner. This West Virginia bluegrass ensemble is celebrating its enduring legacy of over 50 years.
Richard Hefner, the seasoned bandleader and cherished local talent, has orchestrated a remarkable and diverse lineup for the group’s appearance. Embracing the rhythmic pulse on the bass guitar is Hefner’s fellow Mill Point resident, Joanna Burt-Kinderman, while the esteemed West Virginian music ambassador, Dave Bing, will infuse his mastery on both fiddle and guitar. Additionally, the gifted Danny Arthur will contribute his guitar prowess to enhance the ensemble’s sonic tapestry.
Food will be available from The Hangar (pub-style food) and Aunt Beckie’s Kitchen (salads/cold options).
The next day, Saturday, July 5, GVBC will be hosting a 5th of July Music Festival from 1 to 10 p.m., celebrating the music of the Grateful Dead with a day of live performances, craft beer releases, food trucks, local vendors and a community fundraiser.
