Lewisburg-D. Truman Shrewsbury, 76, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Greenbrier Health Care Center, in Lewisburg following chronic health issues.
Born Dec. 8, 1945, at Barkers Ridge, he was the son of the late Oscar and Rivanna Shrewsbury.
Mr. Shrewsbury was an accomplished author, artist, and an active member within his community. Most of all he was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bradley, Bradford, Steven, Dewey, and Delmer.
Those left to cherish his memory include four children, Sherry, Tim, Del, and David; daughter-in-law, Miranda; six grandchildren, Brooke, Adam, Brian, Austin, Corey, and Kayla; one great-grandson, Jaxon; four brothers, Sidney, Roger, Larry, and Oscar, Jr.; and four sisters, Tessie, Janet, Judith, and Reta.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Sand Gap Church, Barkers Ridge, with Pastor Curtis England officiating.
