Thomas Randolph Steep

Fairlea-Thomas Randolph Steep, 77, passed away at his residence Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

Tom was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Ronceverte, the son of the late James William and Louella Gray Dowdy Steep.

Preceded in death by other than his parents was his wife, Joan and sister, Lillian Thompson. Mr. Steep was retired from the U. S. Postal Service and an Air Force veteran.

Surviving Tom are; his son, Randy Steep and wife Dezra of West Palm Beach, FL; granddaughter, Eva Jade Steep of Asheville, NC; sisters, Jean Presock of Alderson, Susie Whiteley of Summersville and Linda Webster of Kentucky; and brother, Donnie Steep of Fort Spring.

Tom’s funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 29, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte where Fr. Chris Fraser officiated. Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery in Ronceverte.

The family received family and friends before the service Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Tom’s name be made to HospiceCare, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

Funeral services have been provided by Wallace & Wallace of Lewisburg.

He often said, “it always rains when a good man dies,” and the day daddy died the physical rain ushered in his eternal reign.
