Thomas Eugene “Tommy” Fitzwater, 64, of Dawson, formally of Victoria, VA, passed away on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV, following a long illness. He was born in Jackson, MS, on July 21, 1961, to the late Merlin Edward Fitzwater and Ruby Ellen Cutlip Fitzwater.
Tommy was an ironworker with Local 16 in Baltimore, MD, and worked in construction laying asphalt for many years. He liked building things, gardening, and watching television, especially “Two and a Half Men.” Tommy also enjoyed camping and sharing a beer with friends. But most of all, spending time with his family.
Survivors include his brother, Henry “Bo” Fitzwater and his wife, Jenny, of Victoria, VA; his sisters, Theodora Hicks of Renick, and Bobbie Jo Fitzwater of Alderson; and several loving aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Sharon Lowery Fitzwater, his two brothers Karl Edward Fitzwater and James Lee Willis.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel in Alderson with Pastor Billy Pate officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, WV. Friends may call Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
