Thomas Alfred Fitzpatrick

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Thomas Alfred Fitzpatrick of Danese, aged 85.

Tom was born Oct. 8, 1939, to the late Charles Luther Fitzpatrick and Myrtle Mignor Fitzpatrick.

Tom enjoyed many hobbies during his life including gardening, clock repair, woodworking, baking, cooking, and spending time with his family. He loved working crossword puzzles, watching Christmas movies, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. He was known to tell family when “It’s a Wonderful Life” would be on television so everyone could watch it.

In addition to his parents, Tom is predeceased by his siblings: Catherine Sears, Charles Fitzparick, Joe Fitzpatrick, Bessie McGurie, Marie Wills, and Hestine Sizemore as well as special nephews Chuck Bennett and Jamie Bennett.

Left to cherish his memory include his sister Rose Bennett of Danese, nieces Vivian Hoskins of Virginia, Gladys Fitzpatrick of Florida, Faye Smith of Morgantown, nephews Jay Noel of Indiana and Alan (Janet) Adkins of Virginia. Nieces’ in-law Michele Bennett of Danese and Anna Bennett of Danese. Great nephews Cody (Kristin) Bennett of Oak Hill, Brian (Shelby) Kulle of Virgina Beach, VA, Derek (Ashley) McClanahan of Danese, T.J. (Sarah) Bennett of Sunnyvale, CA, Dakota Bennett of Danese, Colton Bennett of Danese, and Hunter Bennett of Danese. Great nieces Allie, Faith, and Maci Bennett of Danese and special friend and neighbor Leo Bennett as well as a host of many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to all the employees at Bower’s Hospice House for the care given to Tom in his final days, especially Jessy Bonanno.

Service will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at Wallace & Wallace, Rainelle with Pastor Marvin Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Bennett Cemetery, Danese. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service.
