Downtown Lewisburg welcomes another shoe store to the region with the opening of The Shoe Box on Court Street across from Corn + Flour. Owner Amanda Workman said that traffic has been steady since their opening day last Tuesday.

“Everyone seems to be really excited to shop downtown and show local,” Workman said. “I’m really excited to bring that to the community.”

Women’s, men’s, and children’s shoes are all offered at The Shoe Box, with casual, dress, and athletic styles. The children’s shoes offered are approved by The American Podiatric Medical Association, which is a certification that is important to Workman with her own kids.

The store’s focus includes an emphasis on “comfort and a healthy foot,” and fitting everyone properly. “I want to make sure everyone is happy, and their feet are happen when they leave,” said Workman. “We also want to appeal to the running community.”

The store offers shoes, belts, bags, some jewelry, headbands, scrunchies, and more. Brands available include Stride Rite, Teva, Brooks, Sanuk, and others. Workman plans to expand the selection even more as time goes on.
