Greenbrier East High School student and High Rocks participant Gillian Snyder performs with the GEHS Spartan Marching Band at the 2017 Lewisburg Christmas Parade.

For the third year, The High Rocks Hub is partnering with the city of Lewisburg to present the annual Lewisburg Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m.

While Hub staffers are busy securing Santa Claus’s ride atop the city fire truck and inviting everyone from marching bands to pageant queens to participate in the parade, they are also planning a celebration of their own: an Open House at their new location in the Lee Street Complex, the site of the former Lewisburg Elementary School.

The Open House will be held in Building C of the Lee Street Complex, commonly remembered as the cafeteria building, immediately following the parade.

Since 2015, The Hub has been located at Montwell Park. The week after Thanksgiving, they will move to a newly remodeled, light-filled space in Lee Street Complex’s Building C. The location will feature a café with an expanded menu and coffee bar along with a dedicated classroom for homework help, mentoring, workshops, and club meetings.

“We are super excited for this new opportunity,” said High Rocks Program Coordinator Devin Preston. “We’ve loved our time at Montwell Park, but found ourselves really needing more space, and so are looking forward to being part of the Lee Street Complex community.”

The Hub at Montwell Park is now closed, and will re-open in December once the transition to Lee Street is complete.

Hub participants, parents, and community members are all invited to check out The Hub’s new café and classroom at their Open House on Saturday, Dec. 1, immediately following the Lewisburg Christmas Parade. The parade begins at 1 p.m., with lineup starting at 11:30 a.m. on Lee Street. All are welcome at the parade and at the Open House where light refreshments will be served.

For more information, or to register for the Lewisburg Christmas Parade contact Sarah Mansheim, High Rocks development and marketing manager, at 304-653-4891 or sarahm@highrocks.org.
