The Bargain Box on Walnut Street in Alderson may have what you need. Randolph \u201cJoe\u201d Baker has used washers, dryers, refrigerators, and electric stoves at bargain prices.<\/h1>\r\nThe new business takes in appliances, cleans them, and repairs them if needed. If the appliance cannot be repaired, usable parts are removed and the rest is donated to the ROTC program at Greenbrier East High School. Washers usually sell for around $200, dryers for $150, electric stoves for $150, and refrigerators for $275. A $25 discount is given if an old appliance is traded in. All appliances are given a 30 day warranty. If they stop running during that time they will be repaired or replaced.\r\n\r\nBaker said, \u201cA lot of people cannot afford to buy new so this shop meets a need.\u201d Lonnie Spencer is his able assistant in the business.\r\n\r\nMayor Travis Copenhaver said, \u201cThese guys are keeping usable appliances out of the landfill and helping people who might not be able to buy something new.
