
Two Greenbrier County high school seniors recently received recognition from the General Andrew Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for their demonstrated leadership ability, military discipline and understanding of the importance of Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (JROTC).
Cloie Cochran of Greenbrier East High School and Larissa Wickline of Greenbrier West High School were the recipients and are graduating seniors. The criteria for winning this award required them to be in academic good standing and have shown qualities of dependability and good character. Included with the certificate was a monetary award.
The award to Cochran was announced and presented by DAR member Marit Withrow. The award to Wickline was announced and presented by Ruth Sturgill, Chair of the Awards Committee, General Andrew Lewis Chapter.
