Williamsburg-Steven Dale Patterson, 53, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at his residence in Williamsburg.

Born Apr. 30, 1961, in Germany, he was a son of Jimmy Dale Patterson of California and the late Helen Judy McCormick. He was raised by his stepfather, Richard “Mack” McCormick of Petersburg, VA.

Steve was a self-employed handyman, a member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church in Williamsburg, a member of the Williamsburg Ruritan Club, and loved tending his garden and dearly loved his many cats.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Patterson.

In addition to his father and step-father, Steve is survived by: half-sisters, Debbie Bumgardner and husband Benny of Renick and Mary McCormick of Lewisburg; half-brother, Richard McCormick of Asbury; and his special adopted family, Litz Jarvis and husband Bill of Williamsburg, and Amy Wade of Lewisburg.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service is being planned for the Fourth of July weekend.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Williamsburg Rescue Squad in his memory.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements. Please send online condolences by visiting www.WallaceandWallaceFH.com.
