State Fair to start one day early

State Fair officials have announced the 2017 State Fair of West Virginia will start a day early on Thursday, Aug. 10, and run until Saturday, Aug. 19.
The 2017 State Fair, themed “Start a Tradition,” will open at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10. Gate admission will be $5 all day at the gate and a special ride pass may be purchased for $20 for that day only.
“We are excited to start the State Fair of West Virginia a day early in 2017,” CEO Kelly Collins stated. “Planning is in full swing and we hope to have some more exciting announcements coming soon!”
Also new for 2017, the State Fair will offer 10-day, five-day and three-day admission only packages. Packages will be available on Cyber Monday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., for a discounted rate.
