Employers looking to hire for personal services or technical positions can connect with newly trained students at New River Community and Technical College’s first Spring Expo at the Greenbrier Valley Campus, Lewisburg, on Tuesday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to noon.

“New River CTC’s technical programs prepare students for in-demand careers through two-semester certificates and two-year degrees,” explained New River CTC Dean for Technical and Workforce programs Jerry Wallace. “We’re excited to showcase the accomplishments of our students and welcome the public to campus to learn about the programs we offer.”

The college’s cosmetology, esthetics, machining, massage therapy, nail technology and welding programs will be highlighted during the Spring Expo.

Employers and vendors can register for this free event by contacting Instructional Specialist Nedra Allen at nallen@newriver.edu or 304-647-6576 by Apr. 17. Employers with internship, seasonal, part-time and full-time opportunities are encouraged to attend.

The college is also holding their annual Tech Expo at the Advanced Technology Center, Ghent, on Thursday, May 3. The event will feature demonstrations from students in the college’s electric distribution engineering technology (line service), CDL, welding, automotive technology and information technology/computer science programs. For information on the Tech Expo, contact New River CTC Instructional Specialist/Educational Counselor Peter Hoeman at phoeman@newriver.edu or 304-818-2014 by Apr. 27. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Both events are free to attend and open to the public.

For information on admissions and the programs offered at New River CTC, email admissions@newriver.edu or call 866-349-3739.

New River Community and Technical College serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from the Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg), Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville) and Raleigh County Campus (Beaver/Beckley).
