A Thursday evening, Nov. 21 Spaghetti Dinner will be served in the parish hall of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, White Sulphur Springs, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Sponsored by the Alleghany Highlands Council 8689 Knights of Columbus to help fund Christmas, community and church projects, the dinner will consist of homemade meat or vegetarian sauces, cole slaw, hard rolls, coffee, tea, soft drinks and homemade desserts.

“Each household in the Knights and the ladies auxiliary are making two gallons of their favorite sauce recipes and we have expert chefs in the Council who will oversee the mixing of the various homemade sauces for the delight of the patrons,” noted Perk Berry of White Sulphur Springs, grand knight of the Council.

Projects funded through the dinner will include winter coat distribution in Greenbrier, Monroe, Pocahontas and Alleghany counties, donations to Christmas fund drives in five counties, food pantries support and wheel chair purchases.

“For those who will eat in Thursday evening, the price is simply a money donation; for to-go orders, it’s $7, Berry said.

The dinner is being held in conjunction with Third Thursday in White Sulphur Springs where downtown merchants will be open late and in particular, Gillespie Flower’s on Main Street will be observing its 90th anniversary as White Sulphur Springs oldest family business.

For more information, telephone the office of the Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley at 304-536-1813.
