The Community Christmas Cantata is an ever-popular event during the holiday season. The first rehearsal for interested singers is Sunday, Oct. 7, from 5-6:15 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Fairlea.

Once again, the First Baptist Church of Fairlea welcomes the public to celebrate Christmas in song! “Christmas Joy” includes soulful ballads as well as high-energy exclamations of praise first made popular by the world-renowned Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.

The cantata, under the direction of Jeff Bryant, will be presented on Dec. 15 at 8:30 p.m. in the Chapel at The Greenbrier, and on Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist of Fairlea. A live orchestra will accompany the choir, featuring both local and regional musicians.

The first rehearsal for interested singers is Sunday, Oct. 7, from 5 to 6:15 p.m. at First Baptist of Fairlea. The choir will practice every Sunday until the cantata is presented. Questions may be directed to FBC’s church office at 1stbaptistfairlea@suddenlinkmail.com or 304-645-3533.
