The annual Shortest Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will be returning to Lewisburg this Friday, Mar. 17 to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day holiday. The parade route stretches from Amy’s Market at Montwell Commons to Hill and Holler, also at Montwell Commons. The parade lineup begins at 6 p.m. at Amy’s Market.
Following the parade will be a St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Hill and Holler from 3 to 9 p.m. with live traditional Celtic music from Patrick O’Flaherty.
This year the Grand Marshals for the parade will be Paul and Mary Lindquist.

Paul and Mary Lindquist will be this year’s parade marshals.

Paul and Mary have made Lewisburg their permanent home since returning in 2004 to continue the restoration of Mary’s childhood home, Montwell. They donated five acres of their property towards the development of what is known today as Montwell Commons. They are both active members of the Greenbrier Historical Society.
Mary is a Lewisburg native and a graduate of the Greenbrier College for Women. As a mathematics educator, her career has covered everything from classroom teaching to serving on the International Mathematics and Science Committee on Student Assessment and Performance in the 1990s. Paul is a historic preservationist who currently serves on the Historic Landmarks Commission in Lewisburg and also the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia.
