Sherman Cary Holliday

Lewisburg-Sherman Cary Holliday, 81, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born Jan. 10, 1937, at Ronceverte, he was the son of the late Cary Theodore and Reva Irene Bennett Holliday.

Sherman was a self-employed mechanic all his life. Some businesses he operated and managed were, Holliday Rambler, Holliday Powell Motors, Holliday Enterprises Inc. and M&H Car Sales Inc.  He was a Korean War, U.S. Marine Corp Veteran.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lawrence “Teddy” Holliday, Thelma Bennett, Wilma Leslie, Natoma Storey, Margaret Stayton and great-granddaughter, Emily Dawn Cook.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Kay Harvey Holliday; son, Cary Jed Holliday (Amie); daughters, Reva Carol Morgan (Warren) and Jill Morgan (James) all of Organ Cave; stepdaughter, Tania Faulhaber (Jay) of Apex, NC; brother-in-law, Lowell Storey of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Hester Holliday of Beckley; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Morgan Funeral Home, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, where Pastor Clark Morgan officiated. Burial was in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg.

Visitation was Friday evening, Oct. 12, at the funeral home.
