Jodice Shanklin has been a featured player on the Greenbrier East soccer team for the last four years, a prolific scorer who can create a goal out of what seems to be nothing. Shanklin set a school record for most goals in a season this year, at 31 goals.
When asked what one of his favorite memories would be of his playing time at East, Shanklin mentioned last year’s game against Princeton in the first round of the sectionals. East won that game, 2-1, with Shanklin scoring the second goal in the second half.
At the completion of the soccer season in late October, Shanklin moved with his family to Lake City, FL, where he attends Columbia High School, and will play on their soccer team. Their season begins Nov. 7. As soon as he arrived at Columbia, Shanklin earned a starting position on the team, at right striker. He has wonderful memories of his years at East, and looks forward to making more memories on the soccer fields of Florida.
