At the county commission meeting on Tuesday, Doug Hylton, President of the Greenbrier County Historic Landmarks Commission, announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a large section of the 16.7 mile of the Meadow River Rail Trail. The ceremony was held at the former train trestle situated between the Greenbrier and Fayette county line on Sept. 24. The Meadow River Rail Trail project has taken five years and several phases to complete. An additional 5.2 trail miles, currently still in the possession of CSX, will bring the trail to Rainelle where a trailhead will be established.
